Welcome to Papyrus Tours

About the Company

ATOL Protected 9086Our aim is to take people interested in natural history to some of the best wildlife destinations in the world where they can enjoy the experience with expert guidance, at a sensible pace, staying in good quality accommodation at a competitive price.

Papyrus has been operating for some 20 years, beginning in East Africa and going from there to embrace destinations in Central America, Europe, Southern Africa, the Indian Subcontinent and Australasia. We continue to expand and 2009 will see our first tour to Sri Lanka.

We cater for tour members with varying degrees of knowledge and expertise, from interested beginner to expert – all that we ask is that they bring a sufficiently strong enthusiasm for wildlife to maintain their interest in tours which are mainly wildlife in content but may also embrace other interests.

Our experienced UK leaders, one of whom accompanies each tour, are there to interpret and to help tour members appreciate not only the wildlife but also the landscape, history and culture of the countries being visited.

Importantly, we will seek to do this at an unhurried pace avoiding, where possible, one night stop-overs and limiting mileages between destinations, thus providing ample opportunities for tour members to absorb their experiences.

Papyrus operates on a low ratio of 6:1 maximum of tour members:UK leader/local guide and guarantees a window seat when viewing of wildlife from vehicles is necessary.

When comparing our prices, remember that the Papyrus price is truly all-inclusive. It includes all travel from your departure airport in the UK, accommodation with en suite facilities (except where stated), all meals, bottled water on the journeys and all tipping at hotels/lodges and for your driver/guides. The only additional costs for you are travel insurance, passport and visa costs, medication cost (eg anti-malaria tablets) any souvenirs you may buy and drinks with your meals.
